One of the things that mattered most to our renovation clients was that the exterior didn’t look like a mish-mash. They didn’t want to give up the original 1960’s stone masonry—looking closely, the rock from Texas is FULL of fossils. It’s really cool stuff! So, we had to come up with a solution that melded well with the existing and desired exterior.
What did we do?
We chose Stucco.
Originally, the house had board and bat vertical siding. The style fit for 1960, but it dated the house today. We chose not to do lap siding because of the maintenance costs associated. Stucco is forever and ever and never needs to be repainted. Perfect choice.
We chose a stucco color that complemented the natural stone and Gray facia to match the gray grout.
