There are so many details in this Awbrey Glen custom kitchen, it’s hard to know where to start!
But maybe we can work our way down, starting with the reclaimed timber beams in the ceiling. They are really a hallmark of an Alway Home—and bring a warmth into the kitchen that few other details can do. Plus, with the strong colors running through this kitchen, the beams act as a strong grounding agent, matching the natural stained alder wood trim and door package.
This Alway Homes kitchen features hand-antiqued white cabinets with glass panes. The wrought-iron cabinet pulls and handles also correspond with the wrought iron door hardware and the blacksmith forged iron railing, for a complete look. Check out the amazing toe-kick bar under the island!!! Beefy!
Lighting and plugs are hidden underneath the upper cabinets. The white cabinets, neutral travertine subway tile and light-colored granite countertops, keep the kitchen clean and bright, and allow for the bright pops of color in the island and over the stove.
The custom hood is done in a cheerful Tuscan yellow plaster, and the deep red island makes for a fun complementary color combination.
Some of the design decisions that are particular to this kitchen:
1. Crumbled edges of the granite counter top
2. The custom-made, round-edged center island with farm sink
3. Utilizing the same travertine stone from the floor as a backsplash, and applying it in the classic subway tile form
4. The colorful backsplash tile behind the stove, and pot-filler faucet
5. Barn door on lateral slide hinges
6. Automatic shades
The best part about a custom kitchen…CUSTOMIZING IT! Alway Homes wants the end result to be even better than what you had imagined.
