Copper Roof on a Dormer -- Jess Alway Home Construction
Copper Roof on a Dormer — Jess Alway Home Construction

Copper is one of those materials that has been used in the building trades for millennia. And for good reason! It resists corrosion. It withstands the weather. It is easily shaped. It holds up! And it’s beautiful.

Once it begins to gather a patina the color palate is varied — from plums to vintage blues and mint greens to deep chestnut and chocolate browns. You never know exactly what it is going to do. It’s own creative variation brings excitement to every project!

I enjoy using this material for a number of elemental and ornamental applications.

Above, copper has been used as roofing on a dormer.

And here is a great view of a bespoke dormer. This dormer sits atop a large French Provincial manor. The stonework and stucco will really be jealous of this jewel on top!

And who can resist copper gutters? You can’t. They add beauty while serving a noble purpose!

I have millions of other photographs of great uses for copper. It truly is one of my favorite materials to work with.
