If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you know how much I love details. In my mind, the house doesn’t end at the foundation corners — the house extends to every inch of the lot. And every inch of the lot can be made to work with the home, not against it. Get creative with stamped concrete and FINISH the house you build!

Above, you’ll see a house Alway Homes recently completed in Salem, Oregon. Within the driveway, we created a running river design, paired on each side by a cobblestone pattern. The curvy lines are repeated in the gating, the stonework on the front of the home, the stone fireplace design inside, and through to the back patio.

Whether you are going for a modern and sleek look, rustic cowboy, or a whimsical art craftsman — carry the theme throughout the entire property for maximum eye-popping results. Not only will you love it, but people will most definitely notice the care that went into the whole project.

There are so many different ways to personalize your property — don’t let a slab of grey concrete stand in your way of making a statement.

This last picture is a great example of two different stamped concrete patterns paired together. Each would look great on their respective own as well. On the left is a slate pattern, and to the right, a cobblestone stamped concrete.

Always remember to put expansion joints in any concrete patio — with or without stamping. Without the joints your stamped concrete will end up marred by cracks.

Have fun with your property.
